Melting Frozen Pom Poms

This activity kept us busy for about 30-45 minutes straight- not exaggerating. If you have a toddler, you know that's a looonngg time to be focused on a single activity. We were absolutely soaked and so was the kitchen floor, despite the towel, but it was SO worth it!
I separated out all of the blue and white pom poms that we have to give the activity more of a "winter" feel. I put all the poms in this little blue tub and added just enough water to cover them all. I stuck the tub in the freezer over night so it was ready for us in the morning!
In the morning, I put the small blue tub in a bigger container and included a little bucket for poms that broke free, a scoop to scoop them up with, and a hammer to help chip away at the ice. I filled a squeeze bottle with warm water (over and over and over) and let Kade squirt it at the poms until the ice finally started to melt away.
As the ice melted, we were eventually able to dump the big ice cube of pom poms into the bigger container and then just ended up with poms in water which was one of our favorite water play activities this summer! The poms dry completely normal- I just squeeze the water out and then lay them out on a towel to dry.
